Through this, we hope to make an active contribution to a sustainable society, with safe food in sufficient quantities to feed a rapidly growing population.RoleThe Production Team Lead is responsible for leading a production team in continued design, execution, and growth of a production area at Koppert USA. The individual will be accountable for developing standard operating procedures in their area of leadership. As a working team leader, you will perform the daily production and quality operations necessary to lead a thriving and successful production team. In this role you will collaborate with multiple departments to troubleshoot material, quality, and mechanical concerns. You will be a part of building and leading a team which will include biological production operators. The Team Leader will work with the Production Manager to balance the needs of their primary area of responsibility while completing other non-primary functions.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead a team of approximately 3-4 individuals in the biological production group within Koppert USA as a working team leader.Represent your team in various cross-functional internal and external discussions ranging from production reporting to continuous improvement.Be accountable for the performance and results of their team.Provide daily feedback to the Production Manager on status of their area of responsibility.Maintain a high level of hygiene within your area to mitigate contamination risk, and report deficiencies in materials and, or process to management. Appropriately setup equipment as necessary to run your area of control and adjust to meet production needs as necessary.Carry out conversion and installation work for product changes.Checking the presence of raw materials and semi-finished products carrying out assembly work (manually) in relation to packaging materials.Verify proper availability of production supplies and check processes and results (visual inspection and dataset analysis). Carry out quality checks on appearance, numbers, coding, etc.Record quality controls, blocking bulk materials and informing managers of any non-conformances.Recognize, respect, and enforce KUSA Quality processes for you and your team.Dispense packaged products for quality control.Correct deviations within line limits, warning management when necessary.Utilize shipping software where appropriate.Validate, troubleshoot and improve standard operating procedures in your area of production. Communicate with our external production team to assist with troubleshooting production related concerns. Be available for occasional travel to Koppert sites to work with global mite rearing teams, and evaluate production facilities and processes.Requirements:Skills and QualificationsWorking knowledge of the daily operations in a production environment.Ability to remain calm in intense situations.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict.High attention to detail.Team leadership experience Basic familiarity with lab equipment such as scales and microscopes.Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.Experience1 year experience in a leadership role, preferred.3+ years' experience working in a production environment, preferred.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentStrenuous postures during maintenance work and in hard-to-access places.Moderate to high noise level. Personnel will always be wearing personal protective equipment Exposure to some common allergens. Regular exposure to extreme hot and cold conditions.Exposure to bumblebees and macro biologicals.Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.Ability to regularly stand or walk for long periods of time.
