Job Description:

Blazerworks, in collaboration with the local school district, is currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team in Lapeer, MI. This full-time position is available immediately and will focus on supporting students with disabilities. We are looking for a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students. Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive social work services to students with disabilities, addressing their unique social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and implement appropriate strategies and interventions.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for growth.
• Deliver individual and group counseling to support students' social and emotional development.
• Connect students and families with community resources and support services.
• Advocate for students' rights and needs within the school system.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation and records. Requirements:
  • Master's degree in School Social Work.
  • Licensure or Limited License in School Social Work in the state of Michigan.
  • Enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program with a specialization in social work in special education will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
