As a Truck Driver at Republic Services, Inc., you will be an essential part of our mission to handle America's waste with precision and environmental consciousness. The role involves operating heavy-duty trucks on assigned routes to collect solid waste and transport it to appropriate disposal sites. This position requires strict adherence to safety procedures and local traffic laws to ensure the safety of the driver, the public, and the integrity of our facility. Join us and drive the well-recognized blue trucks of the leader in U.S. recycling and non-hazardous solid waste management. Operate a heavy-duty truck along assigned routes to collect solid waste and transport it to post-collection facilities. Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment to maintain operational safety. Adhere to strict safety and traffic guidelines to minimize risks on the roads. Communicate courteously with customers and the public on the route while answering questions or responding to requests. Document route, incidents, and daily logs in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and equipment. Strong understanding of traffic and safety regulations. Good communication and customer service skills. Basic knowledge of truck mechanics to manage minor repairs or malfunctions.
