Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources for Family & Intercultural Resource Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Summit County, Colorado will plan, lead, direct, develop and coordinate the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department. The Director of Human Resources implements strategies to meet organizational goals and create an engaged team while ensuring legal compliance and implementation of FIRC's talent and compensation strategy. The Director of Human Resources promotes a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The HR Director will report to the Executive Director. Our benefits include:

    • Have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated
    • Be a strong team member, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues as well as community partners at the local and state level
    • Balance administrative tasks with a person-centered approach Primary duties:
      • Participate as member of FIRC's leadership team. Prepare plans to support FIRC's strategic objectives, particularly around staffing, recruiting, retention, and equity
      • Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support FIRC's HR compliance and strategic needs
      • Collaborate with leadership to build internal engagement and accountability measures for diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels and make recommendations to overcome barriers
      • Administer or oversee the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
      • Monitor and enforce FIRC's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
      • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to leadership Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
        • Identifies and implements technology and processes to maximize HR effectiveness and enhance employee experience
        • Supports a culture of recognition and works with managers to design effective employee recognition
        • Leads performance and talent management processes including administering tools for conducting timely and effective performance evaluations, annual goal setting, professional development planning, certifications and training and development
        • Conducts research and analysis of FIRC's trends including review of reports and metrics from the human resource information system (HRIS) and/or talent management system
        • Supervises and supports current HR staff
        • Implements, leads, and maintains best practices, processes, and procedures to drive the recruitment and hiring efforts across all FIRC departments, including strategies to attract, select, an onboard talent
        • Oversee HIPPA Compliance as an officer Requirements General requirements of the position include:
          • At least 5 years of experience either as a HR Director/Manager, or a strong history as an HR Generalist with experience managing others successfully
          • HR, Business, or related degree. PHR, SHRM, or relevant certification preferred
          • Have a thorough understanding of state and federal employment-related laws and regulations
          • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
          • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
          • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
          • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
          • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
          • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
          • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
          • Ability to excel in a remote workplace
          • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees
          • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
          • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
          • Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn Paylocity HR & Payroll System
          • Pass a background check and E-Verify
          • Experience in Non-Profit preferred
          • Background in HIPAA Compliance preferred Physical requirements of the position include: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
            • Use of hands to handle, feel, grasp, and operate objects and tools, and reach and lift with hands and arms
            • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
            • Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment
            • The employee is frequently required to operate their personal motor vehicle for work assignments
            • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist
