Experience the stability of a larger organization with a close-knit environment where your expertise can positively impact in a rapidly growing, international organization.Allied Motion Technologies Inc., a large and publicly traded precision and specialty motion control components and systems manufacturer, is searching for a DEVELOPMENT LAB SUPERVISOR to join Owosso, MI team.Allied Motion leverages its superior expertise in electro-magnetic, mechanical, and electronic motion technology / know-how to provide solutions with the most compact, differentiated products or systems that "change the game" and add value to our customers' products.As the Development Lab Supervisor, you will oversee engineering technicians in a design/development department. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies/procedures, and recommends improvements in the development engineering lab.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, coordinates, and prioritizes the daily activities of technicians engaged in technical
    procedures including Reliability, Product Evaluation, Regulatory, and competitive analysis in
    support of Engineering product development and determination of product conformity to
    design specifications.
  • Monitors progress and allocates resources to assure project tasks are completed on
  • Oversees the status of parts, equipment, facilities, materials, tools, and related materials within
    the lab area to ensure maximum efficiency, including equipment calibration and preventive
  • Assists in the design, development and procurement of test and measurement equipment and
  • Participates in technical design reviews to (a) determine regulatory requirements, (b)
    communicate those requirements to the project team, (c) participate in design decisions that
    affect compliance and (d) estimate work load for regulatory tasks
  • Works with Engineering to resolve compliance issues turned up during testing
  • Actively participates in and supports lean/AST activities.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment through the use of the 5S program.
  • Demonstrates and/or performs technician activities to meet demand or coach employees.
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
    • 3 - 8 years of technical, hands-on, either electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a constructive member of a cross-
      functional team, sharing product and company knowledge as needed.
    • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Strong interpersonal skills; able to inspire
      and motivate.
    • Root cause analysis, problem identification, and resolution skills
