GENERAL SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist will direct, supervise,
evaluate and provide physical therapy services to patients as
prescribed by the attending physician or nurse practitioner -
partnering with new and existing patients to create a plan of
treatment consisting of the appropriate exercises, procedures and
techniques required to promote effective, safe recovers. The
Physical Therapist will fully examine individuals to diagnose
specifics about their conditions and is committed to helping
patients obtain independence and mobility. - -ESSENTIAL JOB
Restore patient's function, alleviates pain, and prevent
disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed
Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and
Advise and consult with patients, family members, physicians and
other medical professionals o the care and treatment of patients.
Determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with
physicians or by prescription.
Help patient accomplish treatment plan by administering manual
exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary.
Evaluate and record patient's progress, modifying treatment plans,
and trying new treatments if required.
Evaluate the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by
observing, noting, and observing patient's progress; and
recommending adjustments and modifications.
Document patient care services by charting in-patient and
Instruct patients in proper in-home exercises and therapies.
Educate patients and their families about the recovery process and
the challenges they will face. -
Create and update treatment plans.
Test and measure patient's strength and flexibility.
Supervise physical therapist assistants.
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical
therapy program required.
Must have current Michigan Physical Therapist license.
CPR certification required.
Three years of experience in a pediatrics or clinical experience in
a pediatric setting preferred.
Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare
Excellent coaching, verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills for interaction with
children, family and team members.
Work is performed primarily in an office/clinic environment with no
unusual discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise or exposure to
Regularly experiences (more than 80% of time) mental/visual
