Job Description Job Description Machine Repair Technician, Grand Rapids 3rd Shift Direct Placement $27-32/hour Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Machine Repair Technician for a 3rd shift position from 11 PM to 7 AM, with flexibility to start at 9 PM or extend until 9 AM and occasional Saturdays (usually 1-2 per month). The role involves maintaining and repairing machines such as vacuum forms, trim presses, extruders, and robots to ensure optimal operation and reduce downtime. Responsibilities Perform emergency floor calls, preventive maintenance, and project-based work. Troubleshoot electrical issues and understand PLC indicators. Execute machine changeovers when necessary. Conduct pneumatic troubleshooting and repair. Change oil, gear boxes, and motors. Weld guardings or platforms as needed. Operate drill presses and manual mills for repairs. Perform basic facility maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years experience in machine repair. Proficient in reading electrical schematics and blueprints. 5 years experience in preventive maintenance, including greasing and cleaning machines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience troubleshooting PLCs (Allen Bradley & Siemens). Experience troubleshooting robots (ABB & Fanuc). Proficient in welding, blueprint reading, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work is based in a plastic extrusion company primarily serving the automotive industry. Expect some areas to be dirty and loud, necessitating the use of ear plugs on the floor. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Grand Rapids, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
