Title: EXCEL Classroom Facilitator Department Org: Toledo Excel Program - 103190 Employee Classification: H6 - Intermittent - Seasonal Hourly Bargaining Unit: Bargaining Unit Exempt Primary Location: MC SA Shift: 1 Job Description: This person will facilitate a non-credit course during our EXCEL two-week summer institute(s) for current Toledo Excel high school scholars between 9th and 12th grade ranging in topics of math, science, civil rights, communications, financial literacy, computer literacy, arts & humanities, etc) Toledo EXCEL summer staff will provide leadership and direction, safe and supportive environments, comfort and protection to the students, parents, and staff of the Toledo Excel program. Essential to be respectful of staff, students, UT personnel, and EXCEL families. Refrain from participating in all illegal acts. Minimum Qualifications: * Must be proficient in content area, at minimum, the high school level course equivalents. * Experience working with high school youth. * Positive, responsible, proactive, engaging, respective and mature role models. * Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their ability to provide leadership, work within team structures and direct student groups. * Have strong communication skills (2-way communication is essential); think critically. Preferred Qualifications: teaching experience expertise/proficient in content area classroom management and/or group facilitation with high school age youth Proactive & Engaging Youth team building Small & large group mentoring Responsible, organized classroom management is a must Conditions of Employment: To promote the highest levels of health and well-being, the University of Toledo campuses are tobacco-free.
