Job Description Job Description Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1 years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. This full-semester contract position is for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher serving elementary school students within a community school setting in Ypsilanti, MI. The role requires a dedicated professional to provide tailored physical education instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Location: Ypsilanti, MI Duration: Full Semester Contract Start Date: ASAP through June 5, 2026 Work Hours: Full time Caseload: Elementary School students Key Qualifications: - Active Michigan teaching certificate required - Bachelors degree with appropriate certification in Adaptive Physical Education - Experience working with elementary-aged students in a physical education setting preferred - Ability to design and implement adaptive PE curriculum tailored to individual student needs Primary Responsibilities: - Deliver adaptive physical education lessons that accommodate the unique abilities of each student - Collaborate with school staff to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly - Maintain accurate documentation of student participation and growth - Support inclusive physical activity environments that promote health and wellness - Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administration regarding student development Benefits: - Opportunity to impact student health and well-being in a supportive educational environment - Experience in a full-time, contract role within a dedicated community school setting Candidates with the required certification and experience are encouraged to apply.
